Throughout the third quarter of 2023, the top five photography apps on the Android platform in Kenya showcased varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a detailed look at their performance.

Google Photos experienced a noticeable increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 8.3K in late June and peaking at around 17.5K by the end of September. The app maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users fluctuating between 5.2M and 5.5M.

Photo frame app, collage maker saw a significant surge in weekly downloads in late July, reaching about 10.9K. However, downloads dipped to around 3.8K in mid-September before rising again to approximately 5.9K. Active users grew steadily from 7.3K at the beginning of the quarter to around 12.7K by the end.

PhotoShot - Photo Editor showed a mixed trend in weekly downloads, with a peak of about 14K in early September, followed by a decline to roughly 4.8K by the end of the month. Active users increased from around 9.8K in late June to a high of 22.2K in early September, before settling at approximately 12.8K by the end of September. The app's weekly revenue remained minimal, with occasional small spikes, peaking at $10 in early September.

Video Editor & Maker - InShot maintained a consistent performance with weekly downloads ranging from approximately 4.1K to 10K. Active users saw a steady increase, reaching a peak of around 124.6K in late August. The app's weekly revenue was relatively stable, generally hovering between $30 and $50.

Photo Lab Picture Editor & Art exhibited a notable rise in weekly downloads, starting at around 2.3K in late June and peaking at approximately 14.8K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar upward trend, growing from about 23.1K in late June to around 51.8K by the end of the quarter. Revenue saw minor fluctuations, peaking at $33 in late June and maintaining a modest increase through September.
